Frequently Asked Questions
What is included in the package price?
Every package includes the battery system, inverter(s), professional installation by CEC accredited electricians, all wiring and equipment, council approvals, grid connection, system commissioning, monitoring app setup and warranty coverage. There are no hidden costs. The only additional expense may be variations identified during your on-site assessment, which we will discuss with you before proceeding.
How do I know which package is right for my home?
The best way to find out is to book our free online assessment. Our specialist will visit your home, analyse your energy usage patterns, check your switchboard and solar compatibility, and recommend the system that will deliver the best return on investment. If we determine a battery is not suitable for your home, we will refund the assessment fee in full.
What government rebates are available?
The Australian Government’s Cheaper Home Batteries Program provides a discount of approximately 30% on eligible battery systems. This is applied at the time of purchase by your installer through Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs).
You do not need to apply separately. The rebate applies to systems between 5kWh and 50kWh of usable capacity. Note that the rebate amount steps down over time, so acting sooner means a larger discount.
We handle all the rebate paperwork on your behalf. Additional state based incentives may also be available depending on your location. Speak with our consultants to check what rebates apply in your area.
Do I need existing solar panels?
Yes, a battery system needs to be paired with a new or existing solar PV system to be eligible for the government rebate and to deliver the best value. If you do not have solar yet, we can discuss options during your assessment.
Will the battery keep my home powered during a blackout?
Yes. Both the Alpha ESS and ESY Sun Home systems offer backup power capability. During a grid outage, the system can automatically switch to battery power to keep your essential circuits running. The specific circuits covered will be discussed and planned during your on-site assessment.
Can I expand the system later?
Yes. Both product ranges are modular and designed for expansion. As your energy needs grow or if you add an electric vehicle, we can add additional battery capacity. We design all installations with future expansion in mind.
What does the online assessment include?
We’ll ask a few questions about your property, your current solar setup (if any), and your electricity usage. We may also request a few photos of your switchboard and the proposed installation area to help us understand your setup.
Our specialist will then conduct an online energy assessment including a switchboard safety review, load analysis (comparing your daytime and night-time energy use), battery location planning, backup circuits discussion, and solar compatibility check.
You will then receive a personalised system recommendation with a fixed price, so you know exactly what your installation will involve before proceeding.
How long does installation take?
Most installations are completed in a single day. After installation, we test and commission the system, set up your monitoring app and handle all grid connection paperwork.
